Pack the Pete! was a Success!

From Left: Coach Scott Berry, Oak Grove Senior Allison Richards, her mother, Ted Tibbett, member of the Pink Ribbon Fund Board of Directors, and Mark Buchanan, Assistant Sports Marketing Director.
On Saturday May 12 the USM Men’s Baseball Team played their #1 rival, North Carolina, at Pete Taylor Park at a special game titled “Pack the Pete in Pink!” Despite having to change game time due to inclement weather, and then getting rained-out, the stands were filled with pink T-shirts, and this was a very successful fund-raiser for the Pink Ribbon Fund. Thanks to the joint efforts of the USM Sports Marketing Department, Pink Ribbon Fund Board member, Ted Tibbett, and Oak Grove Senior Allison Richards, a total of $1,392 was raised.

We extend our sincere thanks to Elite Screen printing which created and sold 282 T-shirts, donating $3 per shirt to PRF for a total of $846.

The Dugout Club also held its 50/50 Raffle, and despite the weather, donated 50% or $286 to PRF.

Be looking for another “Pack the Pete in Pink” game in 2013 with more activities for a great way to help a great LOCAL cause!
